The Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) are set up to facilitate and expedite industrialisation of the State by way of production of goods and services, employment opportunities and overall economic growth of the state. The PSEs are required to be both commercially viable and efficient while discharging their mandate of socio-economic benefits. Over the years it is increasingly realised that there is an urgent need to accelerate productivity and professionalism in the functioning and governance of the state PSEs to harness Localisation, globalisation and to capitalise on the changing socio-economic- technological challenges.

In this context, the Public Enterprises Department, Government of Assam organised an One day Brainstorming Workshop to improve performance of Assam PSEs on 24^th February, 2020 at Hotel Radisson Blu, Guwahati in collaboration with DPE Government of India, CAG/AG Assam and National institutions like IPE Hyderabad, IICA, GOI, ICAI, ICSI, ICWA, IIBM, Guwahati, and academic institutions. The purpose of the said workshop was to listen to all PSEs of Assam and accordingly to redefine the role of Public Enterprises Department so that it assists and extends full cooperation to all the PSEs and administrative departments in accomplishing their mandate with updated accounts and profits.

Shri.Rihon Daimary, Hon’ble Minister Public Enterprises Assam graced the occasion and addressed the delegates and the participants.
